Here’s the draft cover for my book. I’d be interested to hear how it comes over. All comments are most welcome.
A tale of a friendship between a Pagan lad and a Christian hermit on the Isle of Elba in AD 572. Vince Rockston writes historical fiction addressing contemporary spiritual issues.

I like the cover. I have to agree with another commenter, the hair on the kid is a bit much and is a little distracting. But overall, I would pick it up and see what it’s about.
Thanks for the honest feedback
I also like it. My impression I’ve gotten from these pages is grit and conflicting emotions will play a big part in the novel. It will also be something of a coming of age novel. But I wonder if Silvanus on the cover should be quite so young. The cover currently suggest the intended audience is juvenile. That’s not the impression I got from this website.
Yes, it’s a coming of age novel, and yes there is emotional turmoil. But SILVANUS starts off aged 14 and the lad in the photo is in fact 16. I’d be interested to know if you see any symbolism in the detail?
I like it. The first thing I noticed, though, was that the kid has quite the head of hair. 🙂
Glad you like it, Rebecca. It is quite a mop, isn’t it?
