In the context of a UNESCO Week of Education for Sustainable Development, a team of historians developed a remarkable 3D-animation of life in the area of Marciana Marina during the Etruscan era (6th-5th century B.C.)
Even without any commentary, the video provides a fascinating insight into community life around the bay in the north-west of Elba, showing flourishing villages, cultivated fields, furnaces for smelting iron ore and copper, and a port enjoying a lively trade with the mainland and neighbouring islands.
